Ada Belle Champlin Biography

Born in St. Louis, MO, Champlin studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Art Students League in New York, and the Cape Cod School of Art under Charles Hawthorne.  She moved from Chicago to Southern California in 1916 and settled in Pasadena.  Summers where often spent in Carmel, where she painted and was active with the local art colony.  Champlin died in Pasadena on December 16, 1950.  She was a member of the California Art Club, the Laguna Beach Art Association and the Carmel Art Association.
