Sold!  We have a local Carmel-by-the-Sea buyer of Carl Sammons’ “Carmel-by-the-Sea, Calif.” in our modified Dutch auction.  Purchased at the Friday, April 10 discounted price of $1,250.  Check back soon.  We plan to pick another painting and do this again.

Let’s have a little fun! Are you familiar with the concept of a Dutch Auction? It’s a type of auction in which the price is lowered until the item gets a bid. The first bid made is the winning bid and results in a sale. This is in contrast to a typical auction, where the price rises as bidders compete. As a variation on this concept, we have selected this small 6×8 oil painting from the 1940’s titled “Carmel-by-the-Sea, Calif” by Carl Sammons (1886-1968. The $1,750 list price includes a beautiful Mayen-Olson gold leaf frame. Starting on April 1st, we will lower the current $1,750 list price by $50 every day in April until someone buys it by calling
